Paris, Our Pleasure

Belgium is part of Europe. Yet, Europe is more than Belgium. Given the title of this blog--Live From Europe--it's high time for real European action. A high speed train trip from Brussels to Paris brought just that. No more than 75 minutes were needed by the Thalys to bridge the 200 mile gap between the two cities from neighboring countries.

Fast, comfortable and easy: the Thalys

Enjoying the train ride, strolling around in Paris, dining and having fun were ingredients of the first of our two days. Paris is known for its fine cuisine and thanks to our Paris loving friends we dined only at the good places.

Just one of the many places where we enjoyed fine cuisine

Although tennis at the French Open was reserved for day 2, at one point it looked like we wouldn't be able to witness any tennis at all. Interestingly enough, the weather was not the reason. While at the entrance of the Roland Garros grounds, we found out that our tickets were valid for the day prior to the one we showed up. But we ended up having a lot of fun on day 2 as well, partly because of this hilarious story but also because we ended up buying even better tickets with access to the second biggest court where we rooted for some the best and most exciting players on both the men's and women's tour. Yes, Paris was our Pleasure. Both days! :-)
