Cozy Winters

During summer, the days are longer in Belgium than in Florida. In winter times, the opposite is true. The days are shorter in Belgium. Combined with the usual cloudy skies this means that the amount of sunlight is highly limited. Darkness falls by 5pm and lasts till past 8am. And during the time in between, the light is not as bright as in Florida.

Tijdens de zomer zijn de dagen langer in Belgie dan in Florida. Tijdens de winter is het omgekeerde waar. De dagen zijn korter in Belgie. Gecombineerd met de gebruikelijke bewolking betekent dat de hoeveelheid licht beperkt is. De duisternis valt om 17u en duurt tot voorbij 8u 's anderendaags. En tijdens de tijd er tussenin is het licht niet zo fel als in Florida.

As a result, people tend to complain but there is an upside. Winter time is also fireplace time. And what is more cozy than enjoying the comfortable heat of a fireplace inside while it's cold, dark and even rainy outside?

Bijgevolg durven de mensen klagen maar er is ook een voordeel. Wintertijd is ook openhaard tijd, of kacheltijd. En wat is gezelliger dan genieten van de comfortabele warmte van haardvuur binnen terwijl het koud, donker en regenachtig is buiten?
